Dubai to Install 200 Ultra-Fast EV Chargers by 2026
Dubai is taking another big step toward greener transportation. Parkin, the city’s largest paid parking operator, has partnered with charge&go, a subsidiary of e&, to set up 200 ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the emirate.
This 10-year project is designed to meet the growing demand for EV charging and support Dubai’s long-term plans for clean energy and sustainability.
When and where will the chargers be available?
The rollout begins in October 2025, when the first 20 chargers will be installed at busy locations. Within a year, the network will grow to 200 charging points in residential communities, shopping centers, leisure destinations, and other high-traffic spots.
What makes these chargers special?
The new charging units will be Direct Current (DC) ultra-fast chargers, capable of fully charging an electric car in less than 30 minutes.
This is much quicker than conventional Alternating Current (AC) chargers, which often take several hours. Faster charging will make EV ownership easier and more practical for daily use.
The system also introduces a “park and charge” model — vehicles can occupy charging bays only while they’re actively charging. This will reduce misuse of charging spots and ensure more availability.
