  Dubai   is set to take a major leap into the future of urban mobility with the launch of its first driverless taxi trials.   The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)   has announced a strategic partnership with American autonomous driving technology company Pony.ai to begin testing robotaxis this year. This trial marks a key milestone in Dubai’s roadmap toward becoming a global leader in smart and sustainable transport. The agreement with Pony.ai forms part of Dubai’s broader Smart Self-Driving Transport Strategy, which aims to convert 25% of all trips in the city into autonomous journeys by 2030. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)   has officially approved a brand-new driver training and licensing facility at Al Rowaiyah 3 (Sector №5), further strengthening its mission to enhance the quality and accessibility of transportation services throughout the Emirate. Operated by First Driving Centre, this new establishment is a significant step toward improving public service efficiency and elevating the overall experience for residents in Al Rowaiyah and nearby communities. The launch of this new facility brings the total number of RTA’s driver licensing service locations across Dubai to 28.
