  The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA)   has initiated an innovative project aimed at creating artificial nests for ospreys, with the objective of safeguarding their habitat, wildlife, and promoting biodiversity conservation. The inaugural nest of this initiative has been established in the Sir Bu Nair Island Reserve. Plans are underway to introduce additional artificial nests in various coastal regions throughout Sharjah, including several nature reserves. This initiative offers a secure and appropriate environment for ospreys to nest, particularly during their breeding season, which occurs from December to March.
